Gary Grinberg, M.D. is a board certified general surgeon with Sutter Independent Physicians (SIP). He joined the group after finishing a fellowship in Minimally Invasive, Robotic and Bariatric Surgery at University of California Davis Medical Center.

Dr. Grinberg completed his general surgery training at the internationally recognized and renowned Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He completed his graduate and post-graduate training at the top of his class: graduating summa cum laude with a bachelors of science from Youngstown State University and with a Medical Degree from the Northestern Ohio Universities College of Medicine.

Dr. Grinberg is one of the few general surgeons in the region offering robotic surgery as an option for clinically eligible patients. In addition, the focus of his surgical practice includes:

• Bariatric surgery as part of a comprehensive weight loss program.
• Advanced Laparoscopic surgery including colectomy, cholecystectomy, appendectomy, splenectomy, adrenalectomy, bariatric surgery, and surgical treatment of achalasia and esophageal reflux.
• Advancement of minimally invasive surgical techniques for the treatment of benign and malignant conditions of the stomach, small and large intestine, liver, and pancreas.
• Surgical treatment for benign and malignant conditions of the endocrine system including thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal glands, and pancreas.
• Robotic surgery.

Dr. Grinberg is a member of The American College of Surgeons (ACS), The American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS),The Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), The Society of Laparoscopic Surgeons (SLS), and the Sacramento Surgical Society.
Dr. Grinberg also speaks Russian fluently.
