Support Groups

Your physical recovery is only one aspect of adjusting to a new and better way of life after weight loss surgery. Even in the best possible scenario, you will probably experience dramatic changes that affect most or all aspects of your everyday life. Although these changes are likely to be overwhelmingly positive, they can still be intimidating, confusing, and difficult to handle. That's why you don't have to face those changes alone.

Lead by our nationally recognized Bariatric Program Coordinator, Stacey Horsley, Sutter Medical Center of Sacramento maintains a number of support groups, and we encourage unlimited participation. The groups consist primarily of patients who have undergone weight loss surgery, but medical professionals and people considering weight loss surgery are also welcome. The groups focus on open and honest discussion, and even when suggestions and answers run short, most participants find that simply knowing others who have shared their experiences is greatly comforting.

All support groups will are held in the Sutter Cancer Center at 2800 L Street on the 7th floor Boardroom from 6:00 – 7:00 pm. You may park on the street or if allowed, in the Sutter Cancer Center parking lot.

Additional parking is on 29th street between K St. and L St. Remember, the groups are third Tuesday of every month. We look forward to seeing you at the support groups!
